 In 2012, in the state of Florida, there were nearly 70,000 hit-and-run crashes in which nearly 17,000 people were injured and 166 died.

The Aaron Cohen Life Protection Act was signed into Law by Governor Scott and is endorsed by Florida's Attorney General Pam Bondi, Florida Sheriffs AssociationFlorida Police Chiefs Association, Sun-Sentinel, Islander News, Orlando Sentinel, Miami Herald, Miami-Dade County Board of Commissioners, and City of South Miami.
